Akanksha Mishra, who works as a content strategist and writer, shared a screenshot of the conversation she had with the stranger. It is not easy to rent a house in Bengaluru; people often complain not just about exorbitant rents but also landlords’ unreasonable demands. However, these are not the only things people have to deal with. A woman took to the microblogging platform X to reveal how a stranger approached her with an unusual proposition.
Akanksha Mishra, who works as a content strategist and writer, shared a screenshot of the conversation she had with the stranger. The man told her that he was also looking for a flat on rent “in a budget and decent locality”. He asked her if she would be comfortable in joining hands.
Mishra told him that she was not comfortable with “male flatmates”. Responding to this, the man said if she was single, they could share the “place for life (upon mutual vibe/respect)”.
“Perks of house-hunting in Bangalore, you get creeps free but not the house. Desperate house-hunters in Bangalore believing in “make them an offer they can’t refuse” too seriously,” Mishra wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Too fast not too swift,” an X user commented. “These are alluring traps. Also, we know so much about live-in relationships, by now, and, where they can generally end….sometimes tragically. You are on your own,” said another. “Say no and move on… why so melodrama? I don’t find anything wrong with his words,” wrote a third.
In June, a woman posted on X how her landlord was the “sweetest man” and always brought her and her roommate something when he visited them. Srishti Mittal shared a photo of a bottle of cold coffee that she said her landlord had brought.
“My landlord is the sweetest man I have ever met. Whenever he visits us (me and my rommie), he never forgets to bring something for us. Juice, shakes, cold drinks, and this time, he brought cold coffee for us. Bhgwan aisa landlord sbko de (God gives such a landlord to everyone),” Mittal wrote.
