South Korean artist Aoora’s mash-up of BTS’s “Run” and Bollywood’s “Aayi Nahi,” blending Korean and Hindi lyrics, has gone viral.

When music from two different countries collides, it often creates magic and that’s exactly what South Korean artist Aoora achieved with his latest viral mash-up. Blending the haunting Bollywood track Aayi Nahi from Stree 2 with BTS’s iconic fan-favourite Run, Aoora has delivered a piece that has struck a chord with fans across the globe.

In the now-viral video, Aoora appears in a stylish red kurta vest and black pants, holding a red mic that perfectly matches his fiery hair and bold makeup. With effortless transitions between Korean and Hindi lyrics, he delivers an emotive performance that showcases not just his vocal ability but also a genuine reverence for both musical traditions.

The video was posted on Aoora’s official Instagram with the caption: “Bollywood song x K-pop ‘Aayi Nai’ x Run’ mash up cover by AOORA.” Since then, it has garnered over 3.6 million views and 176 thousand likes, sparking a flood of praise in the comments section.

Fans of Bollywood and BTS expressed their joy. One user wrote, “BTS + BOLLYWOOD + AOORA = PERFECTION.” Another commented, “Love from Assam, Northeast India.” Even Maddock Films, the production house behind Stree 2, joined in with a playful remark: “Why is this video 3 hrs long?”

Aayi Nahi is an emotionally-charged song in the movie starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana. The film was released in 2024. In contrast, BTS’s Run, from their 2015 album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2 is an anthem of youth, heartbreak, and rebellion.

Park Min-jun, better known as Aoora, first debuted with K-pop group AA in 2011 before going solo in 2016. His musical journey spans R&B, EDM, and pop. In 2023, he gained Indian fans as a wildcard contestant on Bigg Boss Season 17.

BTS is a globally renowned South Korean K-pop group that debuted on June 13, 2013, under BigHit Entertainment. Known for their powerful performances, meaningful lyrics, and dedicated fanbase, referred to as ARMY, the group has made history on numerous global charts. Over the years, BTS has released several chart-topping hits, including Dynamite, Butter, and Permission to Dance, all of which reached the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making them the first K-pop act to achieve such a feat multiple times.
