Rajkumar and Asrit, members of the Indian community in the US, recently created a miniature statue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi embellished with lab-grown diamonds. The duo took statue inspiration from PM Modi’s lab-grown diamond gift to US First Lady Jill Biden.

“When PM Modi gifted lab-grown diamonds to Ms Biden, we took inspiration from that. It took one and half years to make this exact statue because we did a lot of errors and trials. This is the exact enamel statue we were able to make in Surat. We are hoping to give this to PM Modi here, but if not, we will visit India in December,” NDTV quoted Rajkumar as saying.

The two worked with 30-40 people for one and a half years to complete the statue.

“We made the statue 3-4 times and 30-40 people worked together to make it in one and a half years. There are thousands of pieces of lab-grown diamonds in it,” Asrit told the NDTV.

The viral video shows PM Modi’s miniature statue adorned with diamonds, giving it a glittery look. The statue also had glasses attached to it.

In June last year, PM Modi gave a special gift to First Lady Jill Biden at the White House. The Prime Minister gifted her an eco-friendly lab-grown diamond weighing 7.5 carat produced, cut, and polished at a firm in Surat.

According to reports, the diamond was based on the theme of 75 years of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
