Archana Puran Singh scolds daughter-in-law to-be Yogita Bihani for calling her aunty; Kiku Sharda gets it from ChatGPT for accepting ‘faltu award’

Archana Puran Singh appeared visibly upset when her daughter-in-law, Yogita Bihani, referred to her casually as “aunty” on camera.

Archana Puran Singh and her family recently celebrated one year of AAAP Ka Parivaar, a tongue-in-cheek vlog series that features Archana alongside her husband Parmeet Sethi and sons Aaryamann Sethi and Ayushmaan Sethi. Over the past year, the family has been shooting and publishing these vlogs with friends and close acquaintances from the industry, giving audiences an unfiltered glimpse into their lives filled with humour and camaraderie. To mark the milestone, the family filmed a special anniversary vlog centred around the Bestum Awards, a playful, in-house award ceremony where they honoured celebrities who had been part of their madness and laughter over the past year. The special episode was hosted by Yogita Bihani, Aaryamann Sethi’s fiancée, who also presided over a humorous red carpet segment where each family member made an entry.

One of the most hilarious moments occurred when Aaryamann Sethi walked the red carpet. Yogita teased him for not adhering to the dress code and quickly followed it up with a witty remark referencing his recently launched independent YouTube channel. She quipped, “Humne alag outfit decide kiya tha. Khair, aapse kya hi kehna… jisne apni ghar ki thaali mein chhed kar diya ho alag se channel khol kar, usko hum kya hi keh sakte.” (We had decided on a different outfit. Anyway, what can one even say to you… someone who bites the very hand that feeds by starting a separate channel, what can we even say to him?)

The banter continued later in the episode when Yogita invited her mother-in-law, Archana Puran Singh, to announce one of the award winners. Introducing her casually, Yogita said, “Shuru karte hain aaj ke awards aur humaari pehli presenter aa rahi hain… Aunty.” (Let’s begin today’s awards, and our first presenter is coming… Aunty). The introduction didn’t sit well with Archana, who promptly whispered into Yogita’s ear, “Yeh koi tareeka hota hai introduce karne ka? Aunty nahi, Archana Puran Singh bolo aur entry thoda grand announce karo.” (Is this any way to introduce someone? Don’t say ‘aunty’ — say Archana Puran Singh, and announce the entry a little more grandly).

Perhaps the funniest moment of the vlog came when comedian Kiku Sharda received his award. While recording his acceptance, an excited Kiku asked ChatGPT to quickly generate a speech for him. Even artificial intelligence didn’t spare Archana, as the phone, on speaker, blurted out, “Pehli baat toh tujhe khush hi nahi hona chahiye, aur phir bhi agar aise faltu awards lene hain toh…” (First of all, you shouldn’t even be happy, and even then, if you want to accept such useless awards…). Embarrassed, Kiku immediately switched off his phone, leaving everyone in splits. Apart from honouring the guests who had featured in their series throughout the year, the family also celebrated receiving their YouTube Gold Play Button towards the end of the vlog.

In a recent vlog, Archana Puran Singh also reflected on her early struggles, sharing memory with viewers. “This place always brings back memories of the days when I was still struggling. Back then, there used to be a lot of modelling and ad agencies in Nariman Point and Marine Drive. I was trying to become a model, and we used to go from agency to agency with our photos because there was no technology available using which you could just send your pictures,” Archana reminisced.
