A dramatic video capturing the Royal Caribbean’s "Explorer of the Seas" cruise ship tilting to approximately 45 degrees while sailing through the Atlantic Ocean emerged on social media. According to CruiseMapper, a website showing cruise ships' positions and routes, the incident occurred Thursday night after leaving the Castilian coast in Spain. The ship was on its journey from Barcelona to Miami. The cruise was hit by strong winds, leading to panic among its passengers, CBS News reported. The viral video shows passengers struggling to balance when the ship tilted. Shelves across the bar, tables, and other objects can also be seen smashing. A user wrote, “This is rare as cruise ships are huge and have underwater stabilizers. I went on a 7-day Caribbean cruise once and it was amazing. 10/10 would do it again.” Another user commented, “Ever been in 20 foot waves with retrofitted stabilizers? The above was a cakewalk.” “Keep sleeping on the ocean, the ocean is no game,” a third user reacted. “It can tip 45 degrees and still float… it’s pretty safe. Don’t let fear run your life. In anything,” another user wrote. Speaking to CBS News, Jonathan Parrish, a passenger, said that he was watching a show in the ship's theater when he felt the ship make a "hard right turn" followed by a second, "more intense" turn. The show was stopped and passengers left the theater.
