Instagram page Pubity shared a video showing the increasing popularity of ‘facekinis’. Amid record-breaking heat in China, ‘facekinis’ are becoming a rage and are reportedly being sold out in huge numbers with Chinese women trying to keep their skin fair and avoid wrinkles.
The ‘facekinis’, which are full face masks with holes for the wearer’s eyes and nose, separate sleeves to cover arms as well as wide-brimmed hats and lightweight jackets made of UV-resistant fabric, have specifically become popular.
Instagram page Pubity shared a video showing the increasing popularity of ‘facekinis’. In the past few days, temperatures have been soaring, reaching as high as 52.2 degrees Celsius in some areas of China. With such soaring temperatures, ‘facekinis’ have been selling out fast, suggested several sources.
Although there has been a surge in the popularity of the ‘facekinis’ only recently, they have been around since 2004.
“In scorching China, “facekinis” are the hottest new fashion as temperatures shatter records,” says the caption of a video shared by Pubity.
