King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla had a hilarious moment during their first state visit to Germany. While the British monarch was interacting with people at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, a man offered him a paper crown from the popular restaurant Burger King.

King Charles, whose coronation at Westminster Abbey is only a few months away, politely told the man that he was alright. Daily Mail journalist Rebecca English shared a video of the incident on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Great scenes today during the King’s first walkabout in Berlin. He was affectionately offered a crown – a paper Burger King one – by a well-wisher who told him politely: ‘This is for you, if you want it’. Charles smiled broadly and said: ‘I’m alright!’” she captioned the video.

The King and the Queen Consort arrived in Berlin on March 29 for their first state visit since the former’s accession last September. While the monarch declined the Burger King crown, he will be wearing two crowns—the St Edward’s Crown and the Imperial State Crown—at his coronation on May 6.

Ahead of their Germany visit, the royals issued a statement on Twitter saying that they hoped to deepen the “longstanding friendship between two nations”. After landing in Berlin, they were greeted by a 21-gun salute and a flypast by two fighter jets.
