Sanjay Khan’s walk with Dharmendra ended with a rifle pointed at them; Mukesh Khanna on actor’s last days

Haqeeqat was a significant film in both their careers, as it established them as stars. The film also starred Balraj Sahni and Priya Rajvansh and is remembered for the song, ‘Ab Tumhare Hawaale Watan Saathiyon’.

Mukesh Khanna, who worked with Dharmendra in six films, also remembered the late star and shared a video in his memory on his YouTube channel. Mukesh shared that he visited Dharmendra just a few days ago at his residence, after he was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital.

He shared, “After they brought him back from the hospital, they made an ICU at home.” He added that as he visited his home, he knew that it was unlikely that he would get a chance to see the star, but he met Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol. “I knew I wouldn’t be able to see him, but I felt like I had to go. I met Sunny and Bobby both and I told them that he is very strong, he will come out of it, but we can’t do anything in front of god’s will. He had to go, maybe it was destiny.”

Dharmendra passed away at 89 on November 24. He is survived by his six children – Sunny, Ajeeta, Vijayta, Bobby, Esha and Ahana, and his two wives – Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini.
