Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni showcased the camaraderie with Prime Minister Narendra Modi by taking a selfie video during the G7 summit in Italy. Meloni then shared the video from her official X handle as well as her Instagram profile.

She posted the video on X with a caption saying, “Hi friends, from #Melodi.” The video has already garnered over 5.5 million views.

The Group of Seven (G7) includes the United States of America, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, and Japan. Italy holds the presidency of the G7 for the year 2024 and is hosting the summit.

On Friday, PM Modi arrived in Apulia, southern Italy, marking his participation in the Outreach session of the G7 Summit, where leaders from guest countries engage with G7 members on global issues of significance.

“Long live India-Italy friendship!” posted PM Modi on X, responding to Meloni’s selfie video adorned with flags from both nations. The post garnered 4.4 million views as well.

During their bilateral meeting, Modi and Meloni discussed enhancing defense and security cooperation between the nations. Both leaders expressed optimism about strengthening collaboration in the defense industrial sector, aiming to bolster mutual capabilities in this critical area.
