When it comes to memes, there is hardly anyone who doesn’t love the creations? And it’s not hard to understand why one gets obsessed with them. While some love to create memes, others are more than happy to collect them for some good hearty laugh. It seems Tesla and Space X CEO, Elon Musk, has been bitten by the meme bug now, and the entrepreneur couldn’t stop sharing some from his coveted ‘meme dealer’.

Knowing that the ultimate mine of memes is shared on Twitter, Musk decided to ask the users on the micro-blogging site to send forth their dankest memes to him, however, not the biggest meme of the season — the moth ones.
Not moths tho

For those wondering what it means, Musk is referring to the ones that have lost their value due to overuse. It can also refer to exceptionally unique or odd memes. And Musk got way more than he had bargained for. Instead of sending dank memes, Twitterati had a field day turning Musk into a meme, photoshopping his images in most viral trends and giving it hilarious twists.

Flooded with some of the most mean and trolling memes, Musk too shared a Pikachu GIF to express how it all felt. And when that wasn’t enough to stop people from still trolling him, he said, “I said dankest not darkest omg”.

Even Dictionary.com got joined in to explain Twitterverse the meaning of dankest memes and and then asked people to “carry on”.
Dank, when referring to Internet memes, means passé or clichéd; out of touch; having missed the cultural Zeitgeist.
Carry on. https://t.co/IGokPkFobe https://t.co/4Uwe3SjblX
