US boy receives reply to message in a bottle written nine years ago
"On August 21, 2010, I threw a message in a bottle into the ocean from a beach in Rockport, MA. On October 10, 2019, that letter was found on the beach in France. I am mind blown. 9 years."
Once tweeted, Vredenburgh’s post was widely shared on several social media platforms. (Source: Getty)
Putting a message in a bottle and setting it afloat and waiting for it to come back is a whimsical fantasy many indulge in. However, when 10-year-old Max Vredenburgh put a note in a bottle before throwing it into a sea in Massachusetts, little did he expect it to be returned, and that too nine years later.
Taking to Twitter, Vredenburgh shared the note he wrote in 2010 along with the one he received on October 10 this year. “On August 21, 2010, I threw a message in a bottle into the ocean from a beach in Rockport, MA. On October 10, 2019, that letter was found on the beach in France. I am mind blown. 9 years.” https://twitter.com/VredenburghMax/status/1192948461320192003
Vredenburgh’s bottle travelled all the way from Massachusetts and was found in France by a person named G Dubois. Interestingly, Dubois wrote back to Vredenburgh and even shared the exact location where the bottle was found.
