Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi on Thursday inaugurated various projects of Ahmedabad Rural Police, including Khakhi Bhavan, the ADR-Shield (a human resource management system), Blue Circuit Project (rainwater harvesting), Abhay Yatri Project (a vehicle registration system), and the Aslali Sub Divisional Police Officer’s office. He also laid the foundation stone of the Viramgam Police Line.

Sanghvi congratulated the Ahmedabad Rural Police for the various projects started for the convenience of citizens.

In a statement on Thursday, the government quoted Sanghavi as saying, “Due to the vision of Prime Minister Narendrabhai, large-scale investment has come to this area and thousands of people have got employment by setting up industries. Due to this development, the dreams of the common people have been fulfilled.”

Praising the ADR-Shield project, Sanghvi said, “The data of workers coming from all over the country to the industrial area will come on a portal, so that criminals living here under the guise of employment can be identified. Projects like Abhay yatri will increase the trust of the people in the police.” The programme was hosted by Ahmedabad Range IG Vidhi Chaudhary and Ahmedabad Rural SP Om Prakash Jat.

He also announced that all police grounds would be opened to youth preparing for the police and SRP recruitment, adding that coaches and physiotherapists would be arranged for these aspirants.

On cybercrime, Sanghavi said that police were able to recover Rs 33 crore from cyber criminals in a single day recently. He said there had been five days in December when the number of people calling to report cybercrimes on the 1930 helpline had exceeded 3,000 callers.

In nine days since December 8, the Gujarat Police had filed 508 cases and arrested 423 accused persons operating mule bank accounts used for commission of crimes.
