‘Friends reruns, Spanish food’: Akshata Murty’s heartfelt post for Rishi Sunak goes viral

Akshata Murty, wife of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, shared a heartfelt Instagram post for her husband and listed six common things between them. Sharing her photos with Sunak, Murty revealed that they love the popular American sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and Spanish food.

In her post on Instagram, Murty says it’s not only their ‘shared love of watching Friends reruns and eating Spanish food’ that is common between them. “It’s the values that we share. We share the belief that hard work should decide where you go in life. We share the belief that it takes bold action to make a difference. We share the belief that our children will inherit a better world than the one we share today. It was great to be together speaking to people in Harrow about the values that matter to them, and the future they want for their children,” she wrote.

The post accumulated over 30,000 likes and numerous comments by social media users. Reacting to it, a user wrote, “Lovely – glad you have so much in common – selling your souls by committing genocide, for mone.” Another user commented, “I agree entirely with Rishi Sunak….I share these wishes and values too! But if we didnt know who this married couple are what I see here very very clearly is the love between them.”

Sunak has declared a surprise early election on July 4. Ahead of the general election, as many as 78 MPs of his Conservative Party have resigned. On Friday, UK cabinet ministers Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom also announced their decision not to contest the summer election.
