India’s top 10 merchandise export destinations in 2024: Amid rising global economic instability, marked by trade conflicts and tariff disputes, India’s exports have reached USD 778.21 billion in 2023-24.
It saw a historic rise of 67 per cent over the past decade (2013-14), according to a Press Information Bureau (PIB) press report by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Merchandise exports worth USD 437.10 billion and services exports of USD 341.11 billion in 2023-24 drove the rapid growth of India’s export ecosystem.

India’s export ecosystem has been strengthened by strategic policy measures, increased competitiveness, and expanded market access, making it now more resilient and deeply tied into the global economy.
Regionally, North America has remained the predominant region for India’s exports from 2004 to 2024; however, there has been a marked increase in export values over the years.
It is followed by the United Arab Emirates at 8.2 per cent and the Netherlands at 5.16 per cent, rounding out the top 3.
Notably, the top 10 countries together combine for 51 per cent of India’s total share of merchandise export percentage, with the remainder making up 41.02 per cent in 2023-24.

How will Trump’s reciprocal tariff impact this trade?
US President Donald Trump announced that imports from India to the country will attract an additional 25% tariff, along with the existing 25% rate, resulting in 50% tariffs and making India the nation facing the highest tariffs from the U.S.
