Lemon Mobiles launched a five-inch phablet called A4 priced at for Rs 17,999. The device has a 1080-pixel high-definition screen and is a dual-SIM phone. The phone is fairly slim at 8.5 mm. It has a 1.2 GHz processor,16 GB internal storage and up to 64 GB of expandable storage. It has a 13-MP rear camera and a 5-MP front camera. This phablet runs Android Jelly Bean (4.2) and users can expect decent battery life since the battery is 1,850 mAh.

One of the biggest iPad rivals in the US is now available in India. Online retail major Amazon has launched Kindle Fire HD in two screen sizes,7 and 8.9 inches. The seven-inch device is available for Rs 15,999,while the 8.9-inch version is for Rs 21,999. Indian users can order the tablet from amazon.in,where the e-retailer will make it available from June 27. The device has a high-definition display and good speakers,which will appeal to film lovers. Amazon claims the 8.9-inch version has a battery life of 10 hours,a thickness of 8.8 mm and the weighs 570 grams. Though both tablets support WiFi,the lack of 3G connectivity in these tablets is disappointing. Kindle Fire HD comes with India-specific apps such as Zomato,Dhingana,ErosNow,MapMyIndia and MakeMyTrip,among others. The tablet also comes with Amazon’s Kindle app,which lets users read ebooks. Days after launching amazon.in,an online store for books and movies in India,Amazon announced a major push in the ebook market. The older fifth generation Kindle is available on the website for Rs 5,999,while the Kindle Paperwhite will be available from June 27. Till then,the company is offering one free ebook every day. The Paperwhite WiFi is available for Rs 10,999,while the WiFi+3G version costs Rs 13,999. The Paperwhite has a 6-inch display and Amazon claims that the battery lasts for up to two months. Since the Paperwhite has a backlit LCD display,users can read ebooks on the device in low light.

Samsung’s latest LED TV boasts of better colour reproduction,brighter pictures and higher contrast levels. The F8000 has a thin bezel (0.2 inches),a design that should appeal to those who wall mount their television sets. The TV is Internet-enabled and comes with apps for popular services. The company claims to have enhanced the TV’s voice control capabilities,with over supported 300 commands. The TV has a touchpad-based remote,similar to the clickpad that comes with Bose Videowave TVs. Users can write the channel number on the touchpad to switch channels. F8000 has four HDMI inputs,3.5mm audio outputs,three USB ports,an Ethernet port and Wi-Fi,among other connectivity options. TVs in the F8000 series are available in screen sizes of up to 65 inches and priced between Rs 37,900 and Rs 3,67,500.
