YouTube Music's live lyrics feature works similar to how lyrics are shown on other music streaming services like Spotify. (Image Source: YouTube) Competing with the likes of Spotify and Apple Music, YouTube Music is one of the most popular music streaming platforms in the world. Last year, YouTube Music started testing live lyrics as part of a redesigned Casting UI.
Now, a recent report by 9to5Google suggests that Google has started rolling out the live lyrics feature to the YouTube Music app on Android as well as iOS. Currently, the app has a static lyrics layout which can be accessed by pulling the middle tab from the bottom of the app.
However, the new feature highlights the current line in white colour, increases its size and visibility and makes other parts of the lyrics darker. This makes it easier for users to sing along to their favourite tunes. On iOS, YouTube Music listeners have noticed a background blur effect on the Lyrics tab, resulting in a more appealing visual experience.
The report suggests that the new feature is currently available to a handful of users, so you might have to wait a while before the changes appear on your device. Last month, YouTube Music added a new button called ‘Create a Radio’, which lets users create a radio station from scratch by selecting from a list of artists.
