Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Thursday announced that the long-pending three per cent arrears of Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) employees would be released by March 31, 2026, in four instalments. He also directed the corporation to clear pending medical reimbursement bills of employees for the last six months.

Agnihotri made these announcements while presiding over the 162nd meeting of the Board of Directors of HRTC. During the meeting, he also launched the HIM Bus Portal, enabling passengers to apply for HIM Cards online, which will be delivered by post.

An MoU was signed between HRTC and Axis Bank, UCO Bank and Punjab National Bank for opening salary accounts of employees, offering additional financial benefits. It was informed that around 6,000 Common Service Centres (CSCs) are currently functional in the state, through which bus ticket bookings can also be made.

Various issues related to the financial condition of the corporation, expansion of services and employee welfare were discussed. The Deputy Chief Minister said the state government is committed to strengthening HRTC while ensuring improved facilities for passengers.

Earlier, Agnihotri chaired the 72nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the Himachal Pradesh City Transport and Bus Stands Management and Development Authority (HPSCTBSMDA). He launched an Asset Management Application aimed at enhancing transparency, monitoring and maintenance of bus stands and related assets.

Agnihotri directed officials to expedite ongoing and proposed bus stand projects across the state in a time-bound manner.
