Elon Musk slams ‘cringe’ LinkedIn, hints at adding ‘Job hiring feature’ to X

We will make sure that the X competitor to LinkedIn is cool, says Elon Musk.

As X, previously known as Twitter continues to evolve under Billionaire Elon Musk, the so-called “super app” is now positioning itself as a LinkedIn alternative, allowing brands to post job vacancies.

Responding to a user Ian Zelbo’s query “Is there anything worse than LinkedIn?” on X, Elon replied: “People send me LinkedIn links sometimes, but the cringe level is so high that I just can’t bring myself to use it, so I ask for the resume or bio to be emailed. We will make sure that the X competitor to LinkedIn is cool.”

It looks like this feature has been in the works for some time now. Adam Ryan, the CEO of Workweek tweeted that his company got access to posting job openings on platform X, and they have even hired over 20 people from the same platform.

As one can expect, this is likely to be an X Premium exclusive feature, where only businesses with paid accounts (golden checkmark) will be able to post about jobs. It looks like the feature is currently limited to select countries, as we were not able to see the job postings on Workweek’s account on the X platform.

On top of that, Elon Musk also tweets that X might soon introduce dating app-like features, with an ambition of making X the everything app. Another report suggests that X might soon get payment-related features, which isn’t surprising, given Elon Musk was also the CEO of prominent money transfer platform PayPal.
