ChatGPT Canvas is available for free and paid users. (Express Photo)On Tuesday, as part of the “12 days of OpenAI” announcements, the generative AI leader added a new capability to ChatGPT called Canvas. Canvas is a side-by-side interface where users can work alongside ChatGPT in real-time. It allows users to edit, integrate feedback, and further refine the content or code generated by ChatGPT.
“It’s a game-changer for how people interact with AI, enabling deeper collaboration and unlocking new levels of creativity,” said Kevin Weil, OpenAI’s chief product officer, in a YouTube video.
canvas is now available to all chatgpt users, and can execute code!
more importantly it can also still emojify your writing.

ChatGPT Canvas is available for free, Plus, and Pro ChatGPT users via the GPT-4 model. However, free users will have limited access to this tool, one designed to improve human-AI interaction. The tool can be accessed from the web and the ChatGPT desktop app for Windows.
Canvas enables collaborative editing, where both the user and ChatGPT can simultaneously work on a document in an interactive way, with ChatGPT offering targeted feedback, just like two people working on a document. Canvas can be quickly accessed from the built-in shortcut, which can also be integrated with custom GPTs.
Users can also get feedback on their essays. When a user inputs a substantial amount of text into the prompt area, ChatGPT will add a Canvas button in the upper right corner. Users can ask ChatGPT to comment on the essay like a professor. It can comment on specific portions, making it easy for users to understand and incorporate changes. This also applies to computer programming code.
OpenAI engineers demonstrated Canvas by crafting a children’s Christmas story, where the tool can also incorporate emojis to make it fun for children.
As a part of “12 days of OpenAI” announcements, the company has already introduced ChatGPT Pro, a premium subscription plan that unlocks the full potential of ChatGPPT for $200 a month, followed by a fine-tuning research programme. OpenAI also made Sora Turbo, its video generative AI model open for Plus and Pro users.
