Rs 32 crore in CWG OC coffers through ticket sales

Many events have attracted large crowds but tickets for competitions like net ball and archery have not sold out.

Nine lakh tickets sold and Rs 32 crore in its coffers,the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee is still scrambling to fill the stadiums and has despatched complimentary tickets to schools and NGOs.

“We have sold over nine lakh tickets and collected Rs 32 crore as revenue from ticket sales,” OC Secretary General Lalit Bhanot told reporters here.

He said the OC has given Delhi Government complimentary passes to be handed over to schools. NGOs are also being given free tickets.

Bhanot said many events have attracted large crowds but tickets for competitions like net ball and archery have not sold out.

“We have sent the tickets to the government and NGOs so that they can bring some crowd to these venues,” he said.
