Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was unhappy with the way Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batters Mandeep Singh and Rinku Singh approached their innings in the side’s clash against the Delhi Capitals on Thursday.
The 41-year-old took the Twitter and wrote, “Not happy with @mandeep and @rinkusingh235 approach in this situation Not matter how high your on confidence u got too cut out the risk to create a partnership when wickets are falling Need to stick to one-day mindset till the 15th. Caus u have @Russell12A Comin at the end.”
Both players got out during the crucial stage of the game when the Knight Riders required a partnership. The lack of partnerships meant that KKR were bundled out for 127 runs from 20 overs.
The Capitals defeated Knight Riders by four wickets to register their first win of the IPL 2023 season. skipper David Warner decided to bowl first. Ishant Sharma, Anrich Nortje, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each.
Warner then scored 57 before Axar Patel hit an unbeaten 19 to guide the hosts to a victory. Earlier, Jason Roy top-scored for KKR. Andre Russell played a useful unbeaten 38-run cameo towards the end to take his side over the 120-run mark.
The Knight Riders have now lost three games in a row after a good start to the season and lingering at the lower half of the table.
