On Saturday, they let go of South African pace bowling all-rounder, Gerald Coetzee, and former Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka. Karim Jannat — whose Indian Premier League debut was spoiled by teenage prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi — Kulwant Khejroliya and Mahipal Lomror have also been released from the GT squad.
Earlier, during the trade window, the 2022 IPL winners were largely quiet. As per the press release sent out by the Indian Premier League on Saturday, where some significant trades for players like Ravindra Jadeja, Sanju Samson, Mohammad Shami and Nitish Rana were revealed, there was no activity on the Gujarat Titans front.

When there is a mega auction, there is a limit to the number of players, be it overseas or the Indians, that the squads can retain. But this time around, as it is not a mega auction, teams can retain around as many players as they wish to. Despite the flexible rules, the franchises need to have 25 players, and the purse for each franchise will be around 120 crores.
