With the IPL retention deadline around the corner, there has been plenty of chatter around player trades and releases. Apart from the high-profile trade discussions between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson, there are other activities too. Shardul Thakur, who went unsold at last year’s mega player auction and found a home at Lucknow Super Giants, has made the move to Mumbai Indians in an all-cash deal. There is a possibility that India’s out-of-favour pacer Mohammed Shami could either be released into the auction pool or be traded. Though it will be a mini auction this time, quite a few teams are eyeing a rebuild.
