Shubman Gill

The 19-year old Shubman Gill came under the radar in a big way during the 2018 U-19 World Cup, where he went on to score 418 runs at an average of 104.50, including a century against Pakistan. Gill, who was Prithvi Shaw's deputy in the tournament, came down to bat at the no. 3 position and performed consistently throughout the series, helping India lift its records fourth world title. His performance saw him being sold for Rs 1.8 crore to Kolkata Knight Riders. The Punjab batsman made his List A debut in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made his first-class cricket debut in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy against Bengal. In 2013-14 and 2014-15, Gill was awarded by Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) as the Best Junior Cricketer for two consecutive years.
