Arshdeep Singh, who has established himself as a bankable seamer in India's white-ball teams, believes the respect of being a Test cricketer is different to all others. The 26-year-old, despite being part of the Test squad, hasn't managed to get a game and during the tour of England, where he had a good chance of making the XI, an untimely injury prolonged his wait. Arshdeep, who was the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year, has been an integral member of India's white-ball squads where his performances have even kept Mohammed Siraj out. When asked about what Test cricket means to him, the Punjab seamer said, "You get a different level of respect from Test cricket. People remember you as someone who played 50 T20Is, but in Test cricket, what people remember is, in 1992, he bowled a brilliant four over spell. Even if you don't get a wicket, people still remember it," he told Breakfast with Champions show. Arshdeep then also went on to add that he has been telling the youngsters never to leave red-ball cricket behind. "I keep saying keep focussing on the red ball as well. There is lot of money and fame in the IPL and T20, but the craze for red-ball cricket is going down. You play T20, one-day, but remember playing red ball is also fun. After you send down 20 overs you don't know which part of your body is hurting. That is a different feeling. Now that I have come back after experiencing Test cricket - I didn't play, saw it from outside how it is and how it isn't, how much hard work it takes, level of mental toughness required," Arshdeep added. Arshdeep, also recalled the final day of the fifth Test during the England tour, which India won to level the series at the Oval. "The atmosphere was calm," he said about the feeling in India's dressing room going into the final day. "There was a belief that we will win, they will have to score and if we bowl with discipline we will create chances. That happened in the beginning. We got a wicket in the second over. The belief and the trust only grew from there. Emotions are bound to be involved, especially when all the matches are going till the fifth day. The body is very exhausted. Last match of the series with all the matches going till the last day, but to still bring that energy into this format is commendable effort. Especially the way Siraj bowled," he added.
