Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on both the Congress and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot saying there is a need to remove the Congress once and for all from the desert state.

“Some people here call themselves jaadugar (magician). Today, the public of Rajasthan is telling them, that on December 3, Congress chumantar (will vanish). Congress has made Rajasthan the frontrunner in corruption, riots and crimes. That is why Rajasthan is saying Jaadugar ji, koni mile vote ji (Mr Magician, you will not get votes),” said PM Modi while speaking at a public meeting in Bharatpur on Saturday.

Gehlot is known by the monicker jaadugar (magician) among his supporters because his father was a professional magician.

Modi congratulated the BJP leaders for releasing its election manifesto, which he termed as excellent.

“We have become the number fifth economic power in the world and very soon Bharat will establish itself as the third economic power. Chandrayaan has reached where no country in the world could reach. The historic G20 summit took place in Bharat where big decisions for the world were taken,” he said.

“In the last five years, most crimes took place on sisters, daughters, Dalits and marginalised. Be it Holi, Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti, you could not celebrate any festival peacefully. Riots, stone pelting, curfew, all this kept happening in Rajasthan. Wherever Congress comes, terrorists, criminals and rioters get a free run. For Congress, appeasement is everything. Congress can stoop to any level for appeasement even if it means putting your lives at stake,” he said.

“The Chief Minister who himself says women register fake cases of rape… can he protect women? Can any mother, sister or daughter say something like this themselves? What has happened to the people of Congress? Does such a chief minister, such a jaadugar have the right to stay in his chair even for a minute?” added Modi.

Without naming him, Modi also slammed minister Shanti Dhariwal over the latter’s statement last year where he associated high number of rape cases in Rajasthan with the state “being a men’s state.”

“The Congress, instead of punishing this minister, has rewarded him with a ticket. Even the Delhi people agreed with him, with this sin and that is why gave him a ticket. The question is that a favourite minister of jaadugar, what second red diary does he have that even Delhi had to bow and give ticket to such a person. Every Congress leader in Delhi knows the truth about this minister. But still, this minister has some information, information about the people sitting in Delhi as well that everyone is scared of him and has been given a ticket. I promise you that after the BJP government is formed, efforts will be made to unravel that secret too,” said Modi.

Modi added that the Congress is against Dalits and had opposed former president Ram Nath Kovind, and also opposed BR Ambedkar, twice defeated him in elections and tried to push him away from politics.

Modi accused the Congress of being the kingpin of illegal mining in Rajasthan and also slammed the Congress for not lowering the taxes on fuel. He compared the prices of BJP-ruled states with that of petrol prices in Rajasthan, terming it as loot.

“I promise you today that right after the formation of the BJP government, review will be done of petrol prices and at the earliest, decisions will be taken for public welfare. This is also Modi’s guarantee,” said Modi.

The PM also attacked Gehlot over the existence of the alleged red diary, which was first brought to light by now-fired Congress minister Rajendra Singh Gudha.

“Some people say that in the red diary, there is also a Kabul naama of a son. The son himself is saying that papa’s government will not be repeated,” said the PM.

Later, while addressing another public meeting in Nagaur, the PM again brought up the subject of the red diary and added, “Arey Gehlot ji, kya ho gaya? Aapka jaadu aapke bete par bhi nahi chal raha hai kya? (What happened Gehlot ji? Your magic is not even working on your son or what?).”

Modi said that Gehlot once accepted in a public meeting that his candidates, MLAs had not done any work and that the public has started the countdown for the vidaai (departure) of Congress from Rajasthan.

“Delhi durbar is busy looting the chair of their own CM and CM is busy dealing with them. These people had left the public of Rajasthan on their own. Now at the time of elections, these people are clicking pictures together, even though they don’t want to,” said Modi.

Taking a potshot at the Congress high command brokering a truce between CM Gehlot and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, PM Modi said that despite shaking hands, there is still a lot of sourness in the hearts of the leaders.

“Here there are repeated events of shaking hands. The chief minister and the other person who is waiting to be the CM. Big leaders from Delhi come, get the camera people and make the two shake hands. They also have done a century of shaking hands in the last five years but milaap nahi hua (their hearts didn’t meet). Dil mein khataas hai (There is sourness in heart). But these people are making a show of shaking hands. People say that in the last five years, there were 100 CMs in Rajasthan. In their own areas, every mafia, muscleman, rioters, didn’t think of themselves any less than the chief minister of Congress,” said PM Modi.

The PM also listed several guarantees that have been fulfilled by the BJP.

“The BJP had given the guarantee that Article 370 will be removed from Jammu and Kashmir? Did Modi fulfil the guarantee or not? BJP had given the guarantee that a bhavya Ram Mandir will be constructed in Ayodhya. Has this guarantee been fulfilled or not? BJP had guaranteed that triple talaq will be ended. Modi fulfilled this guarantee or not? Mothers and sisters tell me, it has been fulfilled or not?” said Modi.

“Some people think when I talk about triple talaq, I am only talking about Muslim women. When the law of triple talaq was made, the Muslim mother, father, brother of sister, they also found assurance, that what happened is good, daughter will be married off and she will not come back after 8-10 years, sister will be wedded and she won’t come back after triple talaq. Brother is also happy, father is also happy and the daughter is also happy that after so many years, she has got a chance to live with honour. This is the guarantee of Modi,” the PM added.

PM Modi also spoke about the BJP ensuring reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Assemblies. He also spoke about one rank one pension and said till now Rs 90,000 crore has been disbursed to the families of ex-soldiers ever since OROP was implemented.

“The BJP government opened the doors for women for recruitment in the Army. It is the BJP government which has opened doors of sainik schools for women. It is the BJP government that has doubled the number of women in central police forces,” said Modi.

Modi also slammed the Congress, saying that during the Covid 19 pandemic, Congress tried to scuttle the vaccination drive of India so that Modi’s reputation could be damaged.

“Yesterday the president of Congress attacked my father. It’s been over 40 years since he passed away. Abusing him! What has happened to Congress? Their national president abuses Modi’s father. Kharge ji, aap toh aise nahi the, aapka haal aisa kaisa ho gaya (Kharge ji, you were not like this, how did you become like this)?” said Modi.

Modi said that no matter how much he is abused, he has given the guarantee to the public that he will continue to fight against corruption.

“Congress couldn’t remember reservation for OBC community for 50 years. It was the BJP government which gave the facility of reservation to the Jat community in Rajasthan, which gave constitutional status to OBC commission, ensured reservation for OBC youth in medical colleges under all India quota, it is the BJP that also made arrangements for 10 per cent reservation for poor families in the general category. This is the BJP’s mantra of sabka saath, sabka vikas,” said Modi.
