JD-U,BJP to contest Bihar Assembly polls jointly

JD-U and BJP announced that they would contest all the 243 Assembly seats 'in perfect understanding and cooperation'.

After burying their hatchet,ruling NDA allies in Bihar,JD-U and BJP,today announced that they would contest all the 243 Assembly seats “in perfect understanding and cooperation” in the upcoming polls.

“There is no rift in the ruling NDA in Bihar. Both BJP and JD(U) were together in the past,are together today and will remain together in future,” State JD(U) chief Vijay Kumar Choudhary and his BJP counterpart C P Thakur said at a joint press conference here.

The two coalition partners were at loggerheads recently after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar returned the Kosi flood relief money to Gujarat.

“Everything is normal…we are preparing for the Assembly elections due towards the end of this year,” the two leaders said.

When their attention was drawn to reports of differences within the NDA over the contentious issue of seat-sharing,Choudhary said,”It is mere speculation.”

“I have already said the two parties should stay together to accelerate the pace of development in the state,” Thakur added.
