JD(U): Attack proves Modi not doing well

Yadav said that as far as the EC is concerned, it does not behove political parties to stage demonstrations against a constitutional body.

Condemning the BJP’s attack on the Election Commission, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav Thursday said that Narendra Modi’s allegations of booth-capturing and rigging in UP, Bihar and West Bengal prove he is not doing well in the three states.

“He has been grounded after flying high,” Yadav said. “Even Hitler cannot defeat you if people are with you,” he said, dismissing Modi’s allegation that EC was playing a partisan role.

Yadav said that as far as the EC is concerned, it does not behove political parties to stage demonstrations against a constitutional body.

“Imagine someone sitting on a dharna against the Supreme Court,” he said.

Mayawati calls it ‘drama’ by BJP, SP

Lucknow: BSP chief Mayawati Thursday lashed out at the SP and the BJP over the “conspiracy” and “drama” being played out in Varanasi by both parties to influence elections in the remaining eastern UP seats.

“As the last phase for 18 Lok Sabha seats in eastern UP approaches, which will witness contests of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Azamgarh and Narendra Modi in Varanasi, both parties are playing the religion and caste card. The position of these parties is worsening, which is why they are enacting a new drama and conspiracy in Varanasi from Wednesday,” Mayawati said.
