RJD chief Lalu Prasad demanded re-polling in many booths in his Saran Lok Sabha constituency alleging that Dalits and people of depressed sections were prevented from voting in several areas.
Claiming that he was sweeping the polls,Prasad said he has nothing to do with Congress in these polls.
“We are sweeping the polls in Bihar. What do I have to do with Congress in these elections.”
He said BJP supporters tried to prevent voters from casting their votes in many areas of Sasaram constituency. “They (BJP supporters) tried to disrupt polling in many areas in Saran. They prevented Dalits and other lower caste people from exercising their franchise in Lal Bazar and many other areas,” he told reporters.
Prasad said BJP supporters even tried to block roads and threatened the Dalits and poor people not to vote. “There were three cases of attacks also. It is a failure of the Nitish Kumar Government as they failed to ensure free and fair polls.”
