So far, 378 persons had been arrested for producing and distributing objectionable and clandestine pamphlets and posters against the Emergency, a report quoting “official sources” said. As many as 14 presses used to print the objectionable material were confiscated by state governments.

TN CM Meets PM
The Tamil Nadu chief minister arrived in Delhi for a meeting with PM Indira Gandhi and left the same evening. He told the media that they discussed the political situation in the country, including the Emergency, and state matters. Socialist leader N G Goray called on M. Karunanidhi at Tamil Nadu house after the DMK chief’s meeting with the PM.
Cloud Burst Kills 30
Thirty persons were feared killed in a flash flood that swept Bulandshahr town in UP, when the Kali Nadi burst its banks after a cloud burst, a report said. The town came under four to 10 feet of water and many people took shelter on roofs and trees. The Ganga canal, which carried the flood waters to the town, was closed at the head works. Army boats were rushed in from Roorkee and Dehra Dun for relief work.
