Stylish right-hander Younis Khan will lead Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next month, according to Inzamam-ul-Haq. Speaking to Geo TV, Inzamam, who confirmed that he would not play in the Champions Trophy, said: 8220;Younis Khan will be the captain in my place. There will be no changes in the team because of my ban,8221; he said. However, PCB sources said that young right-hander would fill the batting slot left vacant by the skipper.

Hair out, won8217;t quit

Australian umpire Darrell Hair will not officiate in the Champions Trophy starting next month in India, according to ICC. Hair, who had laid the charges of ball-tampering against Inzamam8217;s team, left the venue immediately in a huff after he learnt that Pakistahn was cleared of that charge. However, he later said that he was not planning to resign after the setback. 8220;I will continue to umpire, I am not thinking of resigning,8221; said Hair while confirming that he would not be part of the Champions Trophy.

Star status for Oval ball!

The public may get a chance to view the infamous Oval ball which was not subjected to forensic investigation after all. The ball from the first forfeited Test ever in the 129-year history of the game has been locked in the London safe of Olswang, lawyers of the International Cricket Council said. 8220;There should also be a chance for the public to view the now infamous ball from the first forfeited Test in history,8221; The Times daily reported today. The newspaper also quoted an ICC spokesman as saying that photographs of the ball might be released soon.
