CHANDIGARH, Nov 4: Very few youngsters aim to be politicians or leaders, and most prefer to join a professional course as a whole time vocation. This was identified as one of the major malaise afflicting Indian polity by the All India Vice President of youth wing of BJP, Rajiv Pratap Singh quot;Rudyquot; while speaking on the topic quot;Ideals and Action programme to revitalise Indiaquot; at the Punjab University here today.

He felt that politics could be revitalised only after socially motivated young men and women come forward to participate in politics. He made a forceful plea for youngsters to adopt politics as their preferred course of action. Rudy was a former general secretary of the Punjab University Campus Students Council PUCSC and the president of Government College Students Union, Sector 11.

Earlier Pramod Sharma, president Yuvsatta, stated that youth should imbibe the spirit of Lala Achint Ram, in whose memory the seminar was being organised. Onkar Chand, secretary, Servants of People Society in his presidential address recalled the role of Lal Achint Ram during the freedom struggle. Among those who spoke were D.P.S.Randhawa, president PUCSC and Munish Anand, former president PUCSC.
