NEW DELHI, August 13: Youngmen trounced former league champions Moonlight Club 5-1 in group A match of DSA-SAIL Senior Division Super League Football Championship.

The final result was quite surprising as Youngmen were beaten by Moonlight 1-2 in the preliminary league.

Both teams tested each other’s strength till the 20th minute and made no serious serious attempt to forge ahead. In the 22nd minute, Youngmen’s Sushil put his side ahead while striker Bhupinder struck the second goal in the 33rd minute. Inside-left Kewal increased it to 3-0 by the time the first half got over, stricking in the 34th minute.

On changing ends, Kewal put Youngmen 4-0 ahead in the 45th minute while Jaideep Dhaka scored the fifth goal in the 54th minute. Referee Ramesh Rehani awarded Moonlight a penalty-kick following an infreingment in the 71st minute which was converted by Tapas Routh to reduce the margin.

Youngmen Club have collected four points after three matches while Moonlight have only one point after four matches.
