
Software major Wipro Ltd on Wednesday announced a net profit of Rs 478 crore for the second quarter-ended September 30 8212; a 16 per cent year-on-year increase and a 12 per cent jump from the first quarter.
The company8217;s IT, BPO services and consumer care lighting businesses posted a total revenue of Rs 2,507 crore for the quarter 8212; an 11 per cent growth on its Q1 revenues and by 27 per cent over the revenues for the same period last year.
Wipro8217;s global IT business revenues for the quarter 430.7 million exceeded its guidance 422 million figure.
Company officials attributed a strong volume growth in the IT services business and an 11 per cent increase in person-months billing 8212; over the previous quarter 8212; as contributing factors to the robust performance.
