
S. A. S. NAGAR, Oct 31: The case in which a resident of Lakhnour village had died under mysterious circumstances on September 14 has been solved with the arrest of the deceased8217;s wife, her paramour and his friend.
Superintendent of Police B. S. Randhawa claimed that during interrogation the accused admitted that they had hatched a plan and murdered Soma Singh.
According to SP, the township police, with the assistance of CIA staff, investigated the case on the complaint of Soma Singh8217;s brother, Balu Singh. He added that it came to light that the deceased8217;s wife, Surjit Kaur, had an illicit relationship with Sukhpal Singh of Mundi Kharar for the past four years. Sukhpal visited their house regularly. There were frequent fights in the house on the issue.
Surjit and Sukhpal allegedly hatched a plan to kill Soma. Allegedly on her directions, Shukpal, along with his friend Kuldip Singh, hired a cab from Phase VII on September 14 and picked Soma Singh, who had gone there to buy vegetables. The trio then went to Sukhpal8217;s house where they had liquor. Kuldip then allegedly caught Soma Singh8217;s hands and Sukhpal hit him on the head with a brick. Soma died on the spot. They took the body on a scooter and dropped it beside a nala near Lakhnaur village.
A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 302, 120-B and 34.
