Attitude is best worn on your tee. “I’m not a terrorist, please don’t arrest me,” was British designer Vivienne Westwood’s statement on his T-shirt to protest the government’s attack on civil rights in the UK. Political or street-smart, slogans and graphics on tees never fail to work. “Smart tees are the best way to express your state of mind to the world,” says designer Nikasha Tawadey. Sania Mirza uses it to good effect (“You can either agree with me or be wrong”). Sienna Miller did the same to highlight the cause of global warming. Actor Aftab Shivdasani’s naughty tee goes terribly well with the twinkle in his eyes. But don’t overdo it. “These shirts may be uber chic and funky but it is not advisable to wear them to formal events. Also, it’s not cool to wear a slogan that may offend a section of the society,” says Tawadey.
