Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on UPA chief Sonia Gandhi on Thursday saying that an Italian would not know nothing about the Ram Sethu.

Announcing the Van Bandhu Kalyan Yojna for tribals, Modi began his speech with “Jai Shree Ram”, instead of his pet “Bharat Maata Ki Jai”. “Tribals are the sons of Sabri Mata and they have constructed the Ram Sethu bridge. The UPA Government had submitted an affidavit to the Supreme Court, claiming that Ram has not travelled on this bridge. As there is no evidence of Ram, Sita, Laxman and Sabri Mata, there is no evidence of even a war between Ram and Ravana,” he told the gathering.

“Sonia’s birth place is Italy and Ram was born in Hindustan. Then how will she know of the existence of Ram? We have full faith in the Hindu religion and don’t want to issue a certificate about the existence of Ram,” he added.

Addressing a crowd of about 1 lakh, Modi said, “It is our demand that the UPA Government withdraw the affidavit from Supreme Court and apologise before the tribals. If not, we will fight for this bridge till our last breath.”
