Kevin Rudd writes book for children

MELBOURNE: Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has penned a childrens book on his familys much-loved pets. Known for his love for animals,Rudd on Saturday revealed his plans to publish the book titled Jasper and Abby and the Great Australia Day Kerfuffle for charity. He has co-authored the book with former Play School presenter and actor Rhys Muldoon. The book follows dog Abby and cat Jasper in an adventure in the grounds of Kirribilli House,official residence of the Australian Prime Minister.

Denzel Washington flattered by Obama

LONDON: Hollywood star Denzel Washington said that he was flattered when US president Barack Obama said he wanted the actor to play him in a movie but admits it probably wont happen,Female First reported.

Its very flattering that he said that. But when his story is ready to be told,Ill be too old. And if it were made right now,he has too much to do to have me hanging around asking for tips on how to play him, Washington said.

Smacking is good for kids: Study

LONDON: Is smacking your kid right? A new study claims chastised youngsters indeed do better in life. The study found young children smacked by parents may grow up to be happier and more successful than those who have never been hit,The Sunday Times reported. They have based their findings on an analysis of 179 teenagers. Lead researcher Prof Marjorie Gunnoe of Calvin College in Michigan,said her study showed theres insufficient evidence to deny parents freedom to choose how they discipline their children.
