Whistleblower gets Pranab clean chit

In a relief to Sanjiv Chaturvedi,the whistleblower who blew the lid off corruption in Haryanas forest department,President Pranab Mukherjee has quashed the states chargesheet against him.

Chaturvedi,a Haryana cadre Indian Forest Service officer who is now on deputation as the chief vigilance officer of AIIMS,was issued the chargesheet in August 2012 when he asked the state government to relieve him for his central deputation.

The whistleblower made a representation to Pranab,who found that none of the charges is sustainable and in exercise of powers under All India Services Discipline and Appeal Rules,1969,upheld representations submitted by Chaturvedi and ordered that the chargesheet stands quashed, the union environment and forests ministry said in an order issued on Friday.
