Virtual steps

Choreographer Remo D’Souza will impart dance lessons through the web.

The success of F.A.L.T.U has encouraged director Remo D’Souza to venture in different directions. The choreographer-turned-filmmaker recently launched a web portal where he imparts dance lessons through the videos. “The website is called LLD — Live and Let Dance where apart from me,choreographers Dharmesh and Prince teach students how to dance,” says D’Souza. He admits that he launched the site purely for the love of dance. “Registration is free on it. I am not looking at charging members. If the concept works, sponsorship will definitely come in,” he says.

D’Souza got the idea for this venture from his directorial debut F.A.L.T.U,where in one of the sequences, the lead actors launch a web portal through which they impart singing, cooking and gymming lessons. “There is a lot of talent in our country, but all of them do not have the resources. On our portal,we will be choreographing songs in different dance forms. Anyone who is interested can learn and even perform in schools, competitions and so on,” he says. It will also have a talent hunt contest wherein the choreographers will look out for India’s Michael Jackson. “People can make their videos and mail them to us and we will call the finalists to Mumbai and have the final competition here.” Besides the portal,D’Souza is busy writing the script of his second film, which will go on floors in September. “It is going to be a dance-based movie in 3D,” he says.
