Uyarnthavan,directed by director-actor Ranjith,is very much likely to hit screens in May.
It’s after a long gap that Ranjith,who had earlier directed Bheeshmar,directs a movie. Uyarnthavan,which had begun under another name Rayilu,was later re-christened Sindhai Mayanguthadi and subsequently re-named Uyarnthavan.
Uyarnthavan,which is the remake of the Malayalam movie Sallapam (1996),has Ranjith himself playing the lead role while Anglo-Indian actress Caroline plays the heroine. The cast also includes Yuvarani,Vinod,Illavarasu,Vadivukarasi,Balu Anand and Lakshmanan.

Jeeva in a dual role in Singam Puli
Jeeva gets ready to play a double role in Singam Puli. To be directed by Sai Ramani and produced by Silverline Film Factory,the film will have Jeeva playing the hero as well as the villain. Divya Spandana and Soundarya will be the heroines. The cast would also include Santhanam,Ponvannan,Kuyili,Pandu,Meera Krishnan and Manickam Vinayakam. Jeeva,who is at present doing K.V.Anand’s Ko,is very much thrilled about his double role in Singam Puli.

Ramesh Aravind back with a remake
Actor-director Ramesh Aravind gets ready to hit screens with his new film,which is a remake of the Tamil hit,Varavu Ettana Selavu Pathana,which had Nasser and Radhika in the lead. The Kannada version is titled Hendtheera Darbar and has Ramesh Aravind and Meena in the lead. The film is produced by GR on behalf of GR Gold Films.
Varavu Ettana …,which was released some years back,was directed by V.Shekar and was a hit. It’s heard that the Kannada version is made to suit the tastes of the Kannada audience.

Mammootty’s Kannada film to start rolling in May
Mammootty gets ready to act in Shikari,a Kannada film that is likely to start rolling in May.
To be produced by K.Manju,the film is directed by Abhay Simha,whose debut film Gubbachchigalu had won a National Award. Mammootty,who was impressed with the plot of Shikari,was only too happy to work with Abhay Simha.
The film has the superstar playing a double role. There is also a buzz doing the rounds that Shikari will be made in Malayalam too.

Karthi’s forthcoming projects
Karthi,the younger brother of Suriya,who had given an impressive performance with the highly appreciated Paruthiveeran,had to wait a bit too long for his second film Aayirathil Oruvan to release. Now that Aayirathil Oruvan has hit the screen and his next film Paiyya too is set for release soon,it seems Karthi is getting busier. He has already bagged a couple of interesting projects.
Karthi would be playing a double role in Siruthai,to be directed by Kathir. The film will have Tamannaah as the heroine and is the remake of the Ravi Teja- Anushka Shetty Telugu blockbuster Vikramarkudu,directed by SS Rajamouli.
While Siruthai would start rolling soon,Karthi is already on to Naan Mahaan Allai,which is a mix of action,drama and romance and which is directed by Suseendran,who had earlier directed Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu.

Nitish Bharadwaj returns to big screen
Nitish Bharadwaj returns to big screen with Vedansh Entertainment and Eye Spy Cinema’s Yaksh,which was launched recently with a non-stop start-to-finish month-long shooting schedule in Indore. The Marathi film also stars Bhanu Uday,Shital Shah,Suhas Joshi,Dilip Prabhawalkar,Anand Abhyankar,Suraj Thapar,Rajendra Chawla and Shafiq Ansari. Being directed by Mukul Abhyankar for producer Nitu Joshi and Mukul Abhyankar,the film has story,screenplay and dialogues by Mukul Abhyankar.
