The coming bypolls for 12 Assembly seats in the state are not going to be a routine affair for the Congress,as AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi will take active interest in it. State Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi met Rahul on Wednesday and briefed him about the recent review of the party's performance in the Lok Sabha election and submitted a report on the Assembly seats that have become vacant. Usually, senior leadership does not get too much involved in bypolls. But the Congress, confident after its good performance in the Lok Sabha election, wants to make an impact in the Assembly bypolls as well.
