UP assembly passes interim budget

The minister presented white paper on financial status of the state for the past 2 years.

With elections scheduled in the first half of the next year,the Uttar Pradesh Assembly today passed an interim budget for 2012-2013,showing an estimated surplus of Rs 5,604 crore.

Amidst noisy scenes,Finance Minister Lalji Verma presented the interim budget with revenue receipts of Rs 1,91,825 crore and expected expenditure of Rs 1,86,221 crore.

Verma said though the total savings were estimated at Rs 5,604 crore,it could reach Rs 7,954 crore.

The Assembly also passed the vote-on-account of Rs 54,762 crore for the first four months of the next financial year (2012-13).

The minister also presented a white paper on financial status of the state for the past two years and claimed it had improved.
