Telangana: Centre has no clear roadmap,says JAC

Speaking to mediapersons,Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee leader Swamy Goud said they rejected the governments offer of talks.

Telangana leaders today said they had received indications from the Centre that it would like to end the status quo and resolve the statehood crisis immediately but that,in the absence of any clear roadmap,their strike would continue.

Emerging from a meeting of the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee JAC to mark one month of the Telangana general strike,convenor Prof M Kodandaram said,Going by the information we received,the Congress high command wants to resolve the issue immediately. They do not want to prolong the status quo. But except for the core committee no one knows what alternatives they are planning. On our part we would like that the Centre at least announce a roadmap for creation of Telangana. Otherwise the strike will continue forever.

They are inviting us for talks but on the other hand they are also booking cases against us. The atmosphere is not conducive for talks, Goud said.
