Suspended cop kills lovers husband,in-law in Haryana

Enraged that her parents married off the girl he loved,a suspended Chandigarh policeman barged into her in-laws house in Haryanas Sonepat district,shot dead her husband and mother-in-law with his service rifle,and fled with the girl.

Basant aka Bunty,absent without official leave since March 26,shot dead Sandeep,22,Roshni,55,and wounded Sandeeps aunt Parkashi,56. He then fled with Sarita in a car with another unidentified man,police said.

Basant and Sarita,residents of Gaurad village in Sonepat,were in love for a few years now. But their families opposed their marriage as both belong to the same khap. Basant went AWOL on March 26 and was suspended.

Earlier also,Basant had eloped with Sarita and brought her to Chandigarh. But Saritas family found her and married her to Sandeep on April 15.
