Suspected IM man held in UP

A suspected Indian Mujahideen operative was arrested by the Delhi Police from near Lucknow on Sunday evening. The accused,Mohd Shakeel,was allegedly in regular touch with key IM operatives,including Yasin Bhatkal.

Sources said Yasin Bhatkal had met him at his hideout in Sitapur in October 2011. Although the police are probing his involvement,investigating officials said he was in charge of recruiting and brain-washing youths to join the IM.

Till now it has emerged that Shakeel used to brainwash youths and promised to send them to Afghanistan for training. He was also supposed to go to Afghanistan, said a police official.
