The advent of Narendra Modi as the BJPs PM candidate has virtually signalled the re-entry of former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa into the BJP fold after a 10-month estrangement.
Sending out a clear sign once again that he is keen to end his KJP experiment and return to BJP,the Lingayat leader Friday welcomed the announcement of Modis nomination by saying he will be a part of the NDA coalition.
I will extend my whole-hearted support to Narendra Modiji and welcome this move by BJP. I will be glad to be a part of NDA coalition. I will not be a part of another political coalition other than NDA under these circumstances, Yeddyurappa said.
Sources close to him said Modis elevation had made the chances of Yeddyurappa going back to BJP very bright. Several leaders within BJP have been lobbying with Modi over the past month to push through Yeddyurappas return to the party.
The Yeddyurappa camp has seen BJP patriarch L K Advani as the primary obstacle to a re-entry for Yeddyurappa and now believe that the Advani hurdle has been cleared.
