This is to promote a healthy spirit of competition among the cities. He announced Mysore, Karnataka, as the cleanest city in the country and the other nine cities were Chandigarh, Tiruchirapalli, New Delhi Municipal Council, Visakhapatnam, Surat, Rajkot, Gangtok, Pimpri Chindwad, and Greater Mumbai.
