The Samajwadi Party revoked the expulsion of its MLA Pramod Kumar Gupta on Friday. Gupta, who represents Vidhuna Assembly seat in Auraiyya district,is a relative of party president Mulayam Singh Yadavs wife Sadhna Gupta.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who is also the state party president, had expelled Pramod Kumar Gupta for six years for indulging in anti-party activities and indiscipline on June 21. Gupta was also in the news last February when his son Abhinav allegedly slapped a teacher at the Amity University. The CM had intervened in the matter, assuring justice to the teacher.
I submitted my explanation to the party leadership which has been accepted. I had not said anything targeting the state government. I have full faith in the SP leadership and I am thankful to Akhilesh Yadav for revoking my expulsion, Pramod Kumar Gupta said.
Gupta had reportedly blamed the state government for poor law and order in his district.
He had claimed that he had submitted his resignation over the issue.
After revocation of his expulsion,he said,I was never dissatisfied with the SP leadership and no one can separate me from them. I am a loyal soldier of the party,I had only mentioned one incident which occurred in my constituency.
