Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh, who has held discussions with state Congress leaders as well as two rounds of deliberations with the Telangana Joint Action Committee, has submitted a proposal to party president Sonia Gandhi.

Singh, who is the partys newly appointed in-charge for Andhra Pradesh, said that a decision can be expected soon. Sources said that the TJAC leadership has conveyed to the Congress top brass that the party will have a huge political advantage in the Telangana region if statehood is announced.
